This week I'll be in conversation with Molly Wizenberg at a launch event for her new memoir, The Fixed Stars. The event will be hosted by the King County Library System on Thursday, August 20, at 7:30 p.m. I really loved Molly's book and I hope you'll join us in celebrating its release!

Please join me at the online 1455 Literary Festival, where I'll be part of the "What's Past Is Present: Historical Fiction" panel discussion about historical fiction and how it grapples with contemporary issues. My fellow panelists are Louis Bayard, Denny Bryce, and Carrie Callaghan.

I'm delighted to share that THE BEST BAD THINGS is the winner of the 2019 Shamus Award for the Best First PI Novel! Thank you to the Private Eye Writers of America for this honor, and congratulations to the other winners and nominees!
